On October 6, the Bermuda Mental Health Foundation hosted the “Steps to Mental Wellness” 5k walk, a day celebrated for unity and purpose in mental health awareness. The event was supported by companies participating in an employer fundraising challenge. A total of 254 participants registered, and 154 completed the walk, collectively raising awareness and advocating for better mental wellness in Bermuda. The foundation commended the participants’ efforts and emphasized the community’s role in making a real difference in mental health.

1. What is the BMHF Steps to Mental Wellness 5K Walk?

The BMHF Steps to Mental Wellness 5K Walk is an annual event organized by the Bermuda Mental Health Foundation (BMHF) to promote mental wellness and raise awareness for mental health initiatives. The walk takes participants through the scenic Botanical Gardens, fostering a sense of community and support for mental health advocacy.

2. When and where will the 2025 walk take place?

The walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Botanical Gardens – Camden House Lawn. The event runs from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, with registration, warm-ups, and post-walk activities.

3. Is there a registration fee for the walk?

Yes, there is Adults Registration Fee Price: $35.00 and Students Registration Fee Price: $15.00.
All proceeds directly support BMHF’s mental health initiatives, including housing and community programs.

4. What should participants bring to the walk?

We recommend bringing:

  1. Comfortable walking shoes
  2. A reusable water bottle
  3. Sunscreen, a hat &
    Weather-appropriate clothing

Water stations will be available along the route to keep participants hydrated.

5. Are there any age restrictions for participants?

No, the walk is open to participants of all ages! However, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

6. Will there be parking available at the event?

Yes, ample parking will be available near the Botanical Gardens. Signage and volunteers will be on-site to direct participants upon arrival.

7. How are the water stations managed?

There will be two (2) water stations strategically placed along the route, including:

Start/Finish Line
Midpoint along the walk route
These stations will be staffed by dedicated volunteers to ensure all participants stay hydrated.

8. Can I volunteer for the event?

Absolutely! Volunteers are essential to the success of the event. We welcome individuals interested in assisting with:

9. What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

The walk will take place rain or shine! However, in the case of extreme weather conditions, any changes or cancellations will be communicated via:

10.⁠ ⁠How can vendors participate in the 2025 Steps to Mental Wellness 5K Walk?

All mental health vendors are welcome to attend and distribute their materials to walkers in the designated vendor area.

Vendor Requirements:

Complete the vendor form prior to the event.
Submit a vendor donation fee of $45.00 or more along with registration.
Vendors must bring their own tables and chairs—BMHF will not provide these.
Vendor Schedule:

Check-in & Setup: 8:30 a.m.
Wellness Fair Starts: 9:30 a.m.
Breakdown: 12:30 p.m.
