Mental Health Week Expands with the Introduction of Steps to Mental Wellness Walk.

Hamilton, Bermuda (August 28, 2019) – BMHF will be hosting its first inaugural Steps to Mental Wellness Walk and Community Fun Day on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This initiative intends to raise awareness about mental wellness as well as breaking the stigma surrounding getting the mental help one may need to have a better quality of life. The walk will take place during Mental Health Week and will start from Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute and will end at Elliot Primary School field with the commencement of Community Fun Day.

The Foundation will also showcase local schools and what they are doing to increase mental wellness within their schools. Activities at the community fair will consist of physical fun such as games, tournaments as well as mental activities that will help participants understand their mental health which includes test, on site counsellors, stress level assessments and more.

“The Foundation truly enjoys fulfilling its mission, goals and objectives. The Steps to Mental Wellness Walk and Community Fun Day is another initiative that will allow the Foundation to educate the community, showcase available help within our community as well as continue the fight to decrease stigma around mental illness in our country. This free event will be open to everyone and we encourage all Bermudians to come out and show their support for mental wellness” says spokesperson for the Foundation.

“We welcome all organizations, charities, fitness facilities etc. to come out and share information with our attendees. Mental Wellness includes the whole person, mind, body and soul.
